Mapping New York City
Art 380: Mapping New York City
Spring 2012, Monday May 7 – Thursday June 14
Anna Campbell / campbean[at]gvsu.edu
New York City continues to be one of the most important art centers in the world. Anyone interested in a career as an artist or in the visual arts would benefit immensely from the opportunity to experience the city, and to establish a foothold into its geography and culture. By establishing a focus on mapping – the process of committing experiential and physical knowledge to visual representation – students in this class will be able to refine their analysis of both the city as well as their particular experience.
